Role Stress and Changes in Behavior Pattern among Women IT Professionals in Bangalore

Abstract

This paper analyze the influence of marital status, age, and experience on role stress and changes in behavior pattern among women IT Professionals in Bangalore. Work pressure influence individual's emotional and physical health. Women with stress are further expected to be unhealthful, weakly aggravated, fewer productive and peace less at home and work. Excellent administration and fine occupation are the preeminent forms of stress avoidance. Hence, the study helps (1) To find the major factor affecting stress and examine the nature of changes in behaviour pattern (2) To understand the impact of demographic factors on role stress and behavior pattern and (3) To study the relationship between role stress and changes in behavior pattern. The study was conducted in Bangalore, with a sample of 509 IT professionals. The sample selection was done by convenient sampling method. The data were analyzed using multivariate one way ANOVAs and regression test. The study confirmed that restlessness is the most meaningful behavioral factor causing role ambiguity on role stress among women IT Professionals. The study also reveals that nearly 36% of the respondents are occurrence with very high level of change in behaviour pattern.
