Training Transfer and Self-Awareness: from Experience and Age Point of View

Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of employee's age and experience on training transfer and self-awareness. 265 employees at junior and middle level management from organizations related to manufacturing sector in India participated in data collection. To measure training transfer and self-awareness, standardized scales were used. Across the career stages of employees, it was found that training transfer and self-awareness differed significantly. Further, senior employees in terms of age had better self-awareness and help in training transfer. Based on work experience of employees, training transfer and self-awareness also significantly differed. Training transfer and self-awareness was observed higher in the employees with high work experience. The implications of the findings have been discussed.
