Energy Efficient Solar PV System for 100 W Domestic Applications

Abstract

A stand-alone photovoltaic power system is designed and implemented to operate residential lighting appliances. The design is targeted to overcome two challenges faced by the solar PV system and changing irradiation. The first challenge is the moving sun. The moving sun which is overcome by designing and implementing sun tracker. The other challenge is that the changing irradiation which changes the power output of the solar panel. And it is overcome by designing DC to DC converter with a closed loop control to operate the panel at a maximum power point at the absorbed irradiation.
