Task Scheduling and Resource Allocation in Cloud using HBPSO Algorithm

Abstract

The scheduling principle should ensure balanced distribution of tasks to minimize the total time and cost and to maximize the number of tasks that is successfully completed before its deadline. The aim of resource allocation to tasks is for all services to meet their performance targets. Several jobs demand different resources while running simultaneously. It is significant for efficient working of cloud to balance these jobs on appropriate resources. Here a hybrid algorithm HBPSO (Hybrid Bees PSO) is proposed for task scheduling and resource allocation which integrates the explorative feature of Bees algorithm and the convergent feature of the PSO algorithm. HBPSO may come out as an efficient approach for task scheduling and resource allocation in cloud environment.
