This paper describes the operational features of a flexible power electronic transformer based UPQC in order to improve the power quality in wind energy conversion systems. Basically there are three stage proposed converter in design of a FPET. The main aim of this paper is to reduce the size of the transformer. In designing the basic structure of FPET two matrix converters are used. Several topologies are studied and matrix converter based PET is being implemented. The placement of conventional distribution transformers with Power Electronic Transformer (PET) reduces the size and makes this device compact. The Proposed system can compensate both active and reactive powers. This proposed topology is being explained and the validity of design is verified using the simulation and experimental results.
