Weight Value Based Clustering for Dissemination of Emergency Message with Selective Reliable Broadcasting in VANETs

Abstract

Vehicular networks being a sub class of MANET is a challenging and dynamic field of wireless communication. It is a trend in which vehicles are manufactured with onboard for performing communication with other vehicles while moving to enhance the overall driving experience and security. Such mechanism enables vehicle to vehicle (V2V) and vehicle to infrastructure communication and provides vehicles with route information and traffic information. Due to the nature of dynamic topology, frequent disconnections occur. For this various number of protocols have designed for its efficient and reliable working. Efficient data dissemination to a set of receivers is a challenging one considering the dynamic nature of VANETs. In the proposed scheme, we guarantee efficient cluster formation and maintenance through weighted cluster algorithm and emergency message is disseminated through SRB Protocol.
