Photo Voltaic Based Energy Stored Quasi Z-Source Inverter with Hybrid Series Active Power Filter

Abstract

This paper presents a Photovoltaic based energy stored Quasi Z-source inverter with three-phase four-wire Hybrid Series Active Power Filter (HSAPF). In this structure has built-in series active power filter and shunt passive filter. In this system provides compensation for the voltage sag/swell, voltage interruption, current harmonics and reactive power component. The energy stored Quasi Z-source (qZSI) network is a unique impedance network that connects the PV/Battery system and inverter bridge. The features of energy stored qZSI can boost up the variable DC voltage into any desired output AC voltage, reduce the component count and maintain constant DC link peak voltage. The proposed energy stored qZSI with HSAPF control strategies is based on enhanced phase locked loop (PLL) and proportional integral (PI) controller are implemented. The performance of the proposed topologies is verified through simulation using MATLAB/Simulink software and developed an experimental prototype is presented.
