The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an emerging wireless technology. The concept of orthogonality causes the transmitting symbols not to interfere with each other. In conventional OFDM system, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm is used in the transmitter and the receiver section. We propose a system by the use of Hilbert Huang Transform (HHT) instead of FFT. HHT is used in the receiver section for the decomposition of the data received. Advantage of the HHT over FFT lies in the estimation of frequencies which are sensitive to noise in case of FFT, So for dealing with noisy signals HHT proves to be better. Simulations are carried out to measure the performance of the proposed system. Parameters are analysed and compared to the existing system in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER) and Power Spectral Density (PSD) for both the existing and the proposed system. Numerical simulations show that the proposed system proves to be better than the existing system.
