The study is being done to determine the level of psychological wellbeing and to analyze the 6 dimensions of psychological welling namely Autonomy, Environmental mastery, Personal Growth, Positive Relations, Purpose in life and Self-acceptance of juvenile delinquents. The study was conducted with the inmates of observation home, Peelamedu, Coimbatore. Out of 20 delinquents present during the study, 10 Samples were taken for the study through lottery method.
The data were collected through Interview method using Ryff's Psychological well being scale which contains 42 items which has 6 dimensions (Autonomy, Environmental mastery, Personal Growth, Positive Relations, and Purpose in life and Self-acceptance) of psychological well being. Ryff's Psychological well being scale has scores from strongly disagree 1–6 strongly disagree. As it was felt that the delinquents will find difficult to score 6 point scale, two point scale was used for the study.
It was understood from the analysis that, most of the respondents have a medium level of psychological welling and they are independent, they have positive relation and self acceptance. Mainly it was found that, respondents do not care about their personal growth.
