Abstract

Right to free and compulsory Education to Children Act 2009 aims to empower communities to perform a significant role in decision making process in schools. School Management committees have a key role in functioning of schools under the Act. The Act was came in to force from 1st April 2010. The rules for the implementation of the act were specified by the Government of Madhya Pradesh on 26th March 2011. Madhya Pradesh is a state of versatility and variety in term of Social, cultural and demographic specialties, the purpose of the study is to critically examine (population wise SC-ST-Gen-) the performance of SMCs in context of RTE and ascertain strength and weakness of SMCs in order to deliver their role in these population centered areas of Madhya Pradesh.
