The important function of wireless sensor network is to collect the data from various sensing regions and send the control information to operate or control the remote nodes in wireless manner. The security is the primary concern of the wireless sensor network which illegally captures the data from the nodes in the network. The attacker's changes the characteristics of the nodes behavior and the attacked node are become a malicious node, which affects the performance of the network. In this paper, an efficient low energy consumption based malicious node detection methodology is proposed which detects the malicious nodes in larger WSN environment also. The performance of the proposed malicious node detection methodology is analyzed in terms of PDR, detection rate and energy consumption.
