The study is limited to IT/ITES employees only. The sample size is only 30 as it was a pilot study to check the Schuttle et al (1998) scale of Emotional Intelligence and determine its relationship with demographic variables. The response of IT/ITES employees is subjective and dependent on their mood and busy schedule. The sampling area was employees working in the Ahmedabad city only.
The findings will helpful to the employees as well as employers. Employers will get an idea through demographic profiles and its relation with EI that which employee can stay for longer duration with the company.
Due to long working hours and constant technology updatation, it is difficult to stay balanced at workplace and level of emotional intelligence is helpful in maintaining balance at workplace. Relate EI with demographic variables works as an aid to the recruiters as well.
The study is a significant addition to the IT and ITES professional's stress and literature, where few relevant studies exists dealing with these problems.
