The Present study takes in to account five mega cities (KAVAL) of Uttar Pradesh i.e. Kanpur, Agra, Varanasi, Allahabad and Lucknow. Total 935 women entrepreneurs working in informal sector in KAVAL cities were interviewed on the basis of predesigned interview schedule. Most of the women entrepreneurs working in informal sector in KAVAL cities belong to poorer socio-economic background. Majority of the women entrepreneurs belong to below 50 years of age group and lower income strata. Women entrepreneurs are found to be engaged in running vegetable/fruit/flower/fish beauty parlour boutique stationary/gift/toy general store cosmetic/bangle, kirana store tea/cold drink/egg/pan, cloths/garment and others. It is worth mentioning here that within group inequality is more than the between group inequality. The results reveal that district wise within group inequality is more than the between group inequality.
