Relationship between Cognitive Styles and Problem Solving Abilities of Senior Secondary School Students

Abstract

The main objective of the current study was to study the relationship between cognitive styles and problem solving abilities of senior secondary school students of Chandigarh. A sample of 150 class XI students was administered Cognitive Style Inventory by Martin (1998) and Problem Solving Ability Test by Dubey (1971). Results obtained support the hypothesis that the cognitive styles of senior secondary school students are significantly correlated with their problem solving abilities.
