Personality of College Principals in Relation to their Gender and Length of Service

Abstract

The aim of the paper was to examine the personality characteristics of college principals in relationship with their gender and length of service. The population consists of 148 principals of Kashmir valley. Therefore survey was conducted, wherein all the college principals were taken as the sample of the study. Big-Five inventory was used to collect the data. Mean, SD and t-test were utilized for the analysis of the data. The results of the study reveal that there were no significant differences between personality and gender. However, significant difference were recorded between personality characteristics and their Length of service. Principals having 4–8 years of experience as principal of the college are more effective than the principals who have 1–4 years of experience.
