Chhattisgarh State has emerged as the top performing state on various fiscal indicators. The state has experienced a modest and consistently positive growth in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). In recent years, the revenue receipts growth of Chhattisgarh State has increased rapidly as compared to the growth in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). Following the introduction of the Chhattisgarh Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act (FRBM) in 2005, the efforts towards revenue generation has increased. After achieving the fiscal targets provided by twelfth finance commission the State had also received good amount of resources from center. In this paper we have analyzed the revenue received buoyancy of Chhattisgarh State during the period 2001–02 to 2015–16. This study found out that the revenue receipts of Chhattisgarh state are elastic over the study period.
