Inculcation of human values: An urgent need to achieve the goal of sustainable development

The concept of Sustainable Development has created a tremendous movement throughout the world especially in the field of education in the last few decades. Many studies and research works are being carried out by the different countries to explore some innovative strategies and ideas in order to enhance the sustainability of the world over the few decades. But one question is very relevant in this regard that what the actual problem behind this matter is? Actually, today we have lost our human values and forgotten our human responsibilities to our environment and the world. For this crisis of human values, we all are destroying our beautiful world environment and its natural resources by abusing them consciously or unconsciously day by day for our personal benefits. So it is very urgent to think to protect the world environment and preserve the environmental resources for our future generation. In this regard, the development of few important basic Human values, like love, truth, peace, right conduct, non-violence, morality, aesthetic values etc. among us can play a vital role to protect the world environment and its valuable natural resources from the dangerous destruction which will ultimately lead to sustainable development. Therefore, we should inculcate the various kinds of Human values among our school learners for protecting our beautiful world environment and its valuable resources to enhance the sustainable development through generating love, affection, morality and aesthetic values among them by providing proper education. Hence, the researcher through his present study has tried to find out some essential Basic Human values which are very necessary to inculcate among our students in the school for increasing their love, responsibility, awareness and carefulness towards their world environment and as well as promoting the sustainable development.
