The valley of Kashmir has been the attraction for the conquerors from the earliest times, however its geographical armour could not be pierced till the internal conditions and external determination afforded so. How after many abortive attempts Mughals were finally able to conquer it invites some serious consideration towards which the present paper is a humble attempt.
