Travel and tourism is the fastest growing industry in India. Tourism is a growing market and is showing tremendous growth in the current scenario. Pargana Kuthar is a group of villages in district Anantnag. It is destination with par excellence with a natural bounty expressed in its untouched vast lands and other historical attractions and Shrines. The pilgrimage destination of Pargana Kuthar has enough potential to benchmark it as famous tourist spot. This paper highlights that the possible tourism products which can be best identified for tourism purposes to boost the pilgrimage tourism in Pargana Kuthar further this type of tourism needs to focus more on sustainability issues to cope up with the present competition among the destinations. It is also necessary to adopt necessary effective measures in order to attract a significant number of tourists and persuade the potential tourists to select PK as a pilgrimage tourist destination. Conducting similar studies on some other destinations or on some other forms of tourism can also give new heights to the pilgrimage tourism in Kashmir. Study area is having immense diversity, the communion of several beliefs, and a land of deep spirituality makes it viable area to be developed as a tourist spot. The study area is dotted with number of pilgrimage sites. This paper elaborately documents the history and other related attractions of the identified Shrines of the area. The Shrines like Umanagri Asthapan, Nagnarian, Panchalthan and Nagdandi majestically stand as the most popular pilgrimage destinations among the people.
