This paper examines the usage of digital payment systems in India and the factors influencing the usage of digital payment systems. The study will help the reader to understand and learn to motivate people to start adopting digital payment systems. For this study, primary data has been collected from around 219 college going students from areas in and around Bengaluru. Students in and around Bengaluru have been selected because; these students are tech-savvy and hence have access to Smartphones and Fast Internet, both of which are a necessity for operating digital payment systems. Keeping these variables constant, we could go deeper to find more factors which influence the adoption of digital payment systems. In this paper, factor Analysis with exploratory approach has been used. The findings of the study indicate that there are two major factors that influence the adoption of digital payment systems, namely product/service feature and product/service marketability, which explain the variability of the data.
