Abstract

Insecticide resistance has been a problem against almost all the classes of insecticides. The problem of resistance has become so severe that the chemical industry in cooperation with the scientific community has established action committees in an attempt to address the problem. In 1984 Insecticide Resistance Action Committee (IRAC) was formed to slow or stop the development of resistance to existing or new insecticides. Therefore the present communication is focused on mechanism of insecticide resistance in insects and the practices used to overcome the resistance problems.
