Nanotechnology has evolved as great tool in science and technology. Nanoparticles are being used in the field of agriculture industry. Plenty of studies have been conducted to study the impact of nanoparticles on plant growth and development. There are many positive and negative impacts of nanoparticles on plant growth and development. Nanoparticles can controls pests and diseases and then enhance plant growth and development which led to increased quality and productivity. Nanoparticles facilitated site targeted and controlled delivery of inputs which lead it as precision farming. Researchers are working to reduce the negative impacts on plant growth and development. It is applicable in all stages like used as inputs i.e. nanoferilizers, nanoherbicides, nanopesticides; processing, storage and production. This nanoparticles because of their small size can easily penetrate into plant body through small pores. But this nanotechnology has to be accepted by public. The products of nanotechnology should be safe and should be of public concern. For this further research has to be carried out to know the beneficial and harmful effects of nanoparticles on human health, plant growth and development and animal health.
