The physico-biochemical property of various genotypes/varieties of okra and co-relation study between percent fruit damage of shoot & fruit borer, E. vittella infesting summer okra were carried out during two consecutive years (2005–06 and 2006–07) at Agronomy Farm, B. A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand. The fruit damage due to E. vittella did not show any significant relation with morphological characters of okra fruits; however, fruit girth (cm, 0.970**) showed significant positive correlation with fruit damage due to E. vittella. Total soluble sugars (0.910**) and amino acids (0.959**) present in okra fruits exhibited significant positive relationship E. vittella infesting to okra fruits. The genotype VRO-5 (19.47%), Red Long((20.12%), VRO-6(22.99%)and Gujarat Okra2 (25.28%) registered lower per cent of fruit damage as compared to susceptible check Parbhani Kranti (42.90%) and other okra genotypes/varieties (26.33 to 38.11%).
