A field experiment was conducted at Agronomy Farm, College of Agriculture, Pune duringsummer 2013 to study the effect of summer sesamum on dry matter production. Field experiment was conducted in a split plot design with three replications. Twelve treatment combinations were formed considering different sowing times and varieties. Main plot treatment consists of varieties viz., Phule til-1, AKT-101, JLT-7 and Padma while sub plot treatments comprised sowing times viz., MW-4(22nd Jan.-28th Jan.), MW-6(5th Feb.-11Feb.) and MW-8(19th Feb.-25th Feb.). It was revealed thatyield attributing characters were significantly affected by different varieties at all the stages of crop growth. Yield attributing characters were also significantly affected by different sowing times. The interaction between varieties and sowing times were found nonsignificant atall thegrowth stagesexcept at 45 days after sowing.
