Abstract

Seven varieties of aonla have been evaluated under semiarid climatic conditions of Western Vidarbha region at Department of Horticulture, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola (Maharashtra). The fruit yield and physico-chemical characters were studied in all 7 varieties viz. fruit yield/tree, fruit yield/ha, significantly maximum fruit yield per plant and per hectare was recorded invariety NA-7 (146.15 kg and 298.14 ha.) In respect of physical fruit quality parameter viz, fruit weight, fruit size, fruit volume, mass weight and mass: seed ratio was found significantly superior in variety Francis followed by NA-7. The highest vitamin C content (537.72 mg/100 g) was recorded in variety NA-7 followed by Chakaiya and Krishna where as fruits harvested from Francis had highest TSS (11.40 ÚB).
