Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2012–13, 2013–14, 2014–15 at Regional Research Center, Amravati. The experiment was laid out in factorial randomized block design with two treatments i.e seed treatment and spraying of chlormequat chloride and five chlormequat chloride levels as sub plot treatments @ 500 ppm, 750 ppm, 1000 ppm, 1500 ppm, 2000 ppm with three replications. The observations were recorded on mean plant height, number of branches plant−1, number of pods plant−1, test weight, seed yield, straw yield, harvest index, From pooled data over the three years reveals that, foliar application of chlormequat chloride @ 1000 ppm at 40 das showed significantly superior over all rest of the treatments in respect of seed yield (1643 kg ha−1), straw yield (1713 kg ha−1) and also recorded higher GMR (Rs. 51141 ha−1), NMR (Rs. 25427 ha−1) and B: C ratio (1.99)
