Bio-efficacy of newer insecticides against gram pod borer, H. armigera were tested at College of Agriculture, Gwalior. All the nine insecticides were effective significantly over control in reducing the larval population. Emamectin benzoate 5% SG @ ml/ha was found most effective followed by indoxacarb14.5% SC and profenofos 50% EC @1.5 lit/ha. The percent pod damage among the insecticide treated plots were ranged from 4.3 to 8.28% as against 11.1% in control Emamectin benzoate 5% SG was found most effective in reducing pod damage followed by indoxacarb14.5% SC and Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC. Maximum grain yield (1707 kg/ha) was obtained from the plots receiving two sprays of Emamectin bonzoate 5% SG which gave maximum net profit of (Rs 15670/ha) followed by indoxacarb14.5% SC.
