An experiment conducted to know the effect of effective concentration of azolla i.e. 50 per cent was supplemented to fifth instar silkworms once in a day, twice in a day and thrice in a day. The silkworm hybrids reared on mulberry leaves supplemented with 50% azolla concentration feeding once in a day during fifth instar showed superiority in all quantitative parameters of silkworm followed by fourth instar. However, feeding twice a day with 50% azolla concentration supplemented leaves was next best supplement. Hence, azolla as a feed supplement at 50% concentration can be conveniently utilized to enhance the silk production.
