Abstract

A field experiment was carried out during pre-kharif season of 2014 on sandy loam soil at the agricultural farm of Palli Siksha Bhavana, Visva-Bharati, Birbhum, WB to find out the effect of bio-fertilizers on the incidence of hemipteran pests infesting different varieties of green gram. Among the different varieties tested, VP1 showed highest whitefly incidence followed by SML-668 and SAMRAT. Same results were also found in case of Jassid incidence. It was also found that the hemipteran pest incidence was more prevalent at the vegetative stage of the crop. Significant difference both in terms of growth of the crop and incidence of sucking pests was noticed in case of bio-fertilizer treated plots as compared to bio-fertilizer untreated plots.
