An experiment was conducted to study the effect of potash on vegetative growth and leaf nutrient status of banana cv. Grand Naine at Dr. Panjab rao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola duringthe year 2012–2013. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomised Block Design design (FRBD) with two factors i.e., three levels of potash viz., 200 g K/plant, 250 g K/plant 350 g K/plant and splits of potash applications i.e., Single application, application in two splits and three splits. The significant variation in growth and leaf nutrient status was found due to different levels as well as due to different splits, maximum plant height (192.13 cm), number of leaves/plant (13.72), leaf Area (868.58 dm2), leaf nitrogen (2.56%) and leaf potash (3.09%) were significantly influenced with 350 g K/plant applied in three splits. Hence on the basis of findings reported in present investigation, it could be concluded that, the treatment with 350 g K/plant applied in three splits showed the best results.
