Abstract

On farm testing of different weeders for cotton crops was conducted at different farmers holdings of Kolakudi, Tiruchirapalli. The treatments are twin wheel hoe, TNAU improved dryland weeder and Balram weeder. Maximum weeding index was highest were recorded in twin wheel hoe weeder (86.6) followed by TNAU improved dryland weeder (81.6). Efficiency of the weeder is high for the twin wheel hoe compared to farmers practice. The cost benefit ratio of TNAU dryland weeder and Balram weeders are 2.06 and 2.03, respectively.
