Abstract

In present study the seeds of Azadirachta indica, rhizome of Zingiber officinale, leaves of Nerium odorum and leaves of Crinum bulbispernum were tested against Raphidopalpa foveicollis Lucas. for insecticidal evaluation of ethanolic extract. To assess the insecticidal properties of all four extracts, different concentrations (.05%, 1%, 1.5%, 2% and 2.5%) were prepared from stock solution. A control group of beetles were exposed to ethanol and emulsified water only. The Raphidopalpa foveicollis Lucas were collected from field and reared in laboratory. Insecticidal trails are carried on laboratory reared beetles. Observations were taken after 12hrs, 24hrs and 36hrs. In laboratory Azadirachta indica showed high effectiveness and gave best results when compared to the other extracts on the basisof LC50values i.e. A. indica (1.71 gm/L) followed by N. odorum (2.39 gm/L), Z. officinale (3.05 gm/L) and C. bulbispermum (3.52 gm/L).
