Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Hi-Tech Floriculture and Vegetable Project, College of Agriculture, Pune during 2013 to study the efficacy of newer pesticide molecules against thrips on rose under polyhouse condition. The treatments with Chlorfenapyr, Abamectin and Clothianidin were found to be most effective against mites by recording mean population of 2.65, 3.76 and 4.47 mites/three leaves, respectively. The next best treatments in descending order of efficacy were Thiamethoxam > Hexythiazox > Acetamiprid and Spinosad in which mean population of mites was 5.27, 6.31, 6.87 and 9.94 mites/three leaves was observed respectively. This followed by the treatments with biopesticides, M-Impact, Neem oil and M. anisopliae in which mean mite population of 10.93, 13.56 and 16.13 was observed, respectively.
