Preliminary study was carried out in the Crambidae fauna at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. The study revealed the occurrence of 34 species from six subfamilies and the subfamily Spilomelinae is the dominant group followed by Glaphyriinae. Many of them are major pests of various agricultural, horticultural and forest trees.
