Evaluation of Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa) Varieties for Quality Traits

The field experiment was conducted at College of Horticulture Bidar, during the year 2011–12. Among the different genotypes, highest Spike length of 90.30 cm recorded in V₅ (Prajwal). Among the different genotypes highest Rachis length of 39.33 cm was recorded in V₆-Vaibhar, followed by V₄-Suvasini (36.33 cm). Significantly higher number of florets per spike was recorded in V₁-Mexican Single (33.87). Highest floral length was recorded in V₂-Pearl Double (6.02 cm). Among the different genotypes highest floral diameter of 4.46 cm was recorded in V3-Shringar, whereas lowest floral diameter was noticed in V₂-Pearl Double (3.55).
