Abstract

The isolation of Pythium aphanidermatum was carried out successfully from damping-off infested brinjal nursery soil in a comparatively shorter duration by using french bean and bottle gourd fruit baits. The pathogenicity of Pythium aphanidermatum was proved in brinjal variety Doli-5 by hydroponic and soil inoculation methods. Out of these, hydroponic method was found to be relatively quick to prove the pathogenicity in brinjal.
