Seasonal Incidence of Shoot and Fruit Borer, Earias vittella Fab. on Okra and their Correlation with Weather Parameters

Abstract

The present study was conducted at research farm of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipurduring rabi season 2012. The results of field experiments revealed that the Okra fruit and shoot borer reached peak on last week of March (12th SMW) with 2 larvae/plant and the seasonal mean was 1.44 larvae/plant. Shoot and fruit borer of okra was positive but nonsignificantly correlated with maximum and minimum (r = 0.477 and r = 0.243) temperature however, negative correlation with morning and evening relative humidity (r =-0.456 and (r =-0.512) was observed.
