Abstract

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of irrigation regimes and varieties on growth, yield and quality of pea. The treatments include 4 irrigation regimes (I1-Irrigation at 25 mm CPE level, I2-Irrigation at 50 mmCPE level, I3-Irrigationat 75 mm CPE level, I4-Irrigation as per critical growth stages) and 3 varieties (V1-Arkel, V2-Phule Priya, V3-GS10). The results indicated that irrigation applied at 25 mm CPE level to Phule Priya variety was found significantly superior in case of growth and yield attributes. Similarly, significantly maximum green pea and straw yield ha−1 was registered with irrigation applied at 25 mmCPE level under Phule Priya variety. In quality parameter, the protein content in seed of Phule Priya variety was found significantly superior when irrigation applied at critical growth stages of pea crop viz., first irrigation at branching, second irrigation at flowering and third irrigation at pod development stage.
