Effect of Integrated Nutrient Management on Growth, Yield and Quality of Summer Groundnut

Abstract

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of integrated nutrient management on growth, yield and quality of summer groundnut. The treatments include 10 treatments viz., T1-Absolute Control, T2-GRDF (25: 50: 00 N, P2O5K2O kg ha−1 +5 t FYM ha−1), T3-100% RDF(25: 50: 00 N, P2O5, K2O kg ha−1), T4-50% RDF +50% N through FYM, T5-50% RDF + 50% N through Vermicompost, T6-50% RDF + 50% N through Neem cake, T7-75% RDF + 25% N through FYM, T8-75% RDF+ 25% N through Vermicompost, T9-75% RDF + 25% N through Neemcake, T10-1/3 N through FYM + 1/3 N through Vermicompost + 1/3 N through Neem cake. The results indicated that application ofgeneral recommended dose of fertilizer (GRDF) (25: 50: 00 N, P2O5, K2O kg ha−1 + 5 t FYM ha1) recorded the highest growth characters viz., plant height, plant spread, number of branches plant−1, number of functional leaves plant−1, leaf area and dry matter plant−1 and yield contributing characters viz., number of aerial pegs plant−1, number of developed pods plant−1, 100 kernel weight, shelling percentage, weight of dry pods plant−1 and weight of kernels plant1 whichultimately resulted in maximum dry pod yield (44.2 q ha−1) and dry haulm yield (48.8 q ha−1) of groundnut. The quality parameters of summer groundnut viz., oil content (48.42%), oil yield (1406 kg ha−1), protein content (24.52%) and protein yield (713 kg ha−1) were also highest with the application of general recommended dose of fertilizer (GRDF) (25: 50: 00 N, P2O5, K2O kg ha−1 + 5 t FYM ha−1).
