Investigation on Bio-efficacy of newer insecticides and botanicals against sucking pests of okra was carried out during two consecutive years (2005–06 and 2006–07) at Agronomy Farm, B. A. College of Agriculture, Anand Agricultural University, Anand. Of the various insecticidal and botanical treatments viz; Imidacloprid (0.04%), Dimethoate (0.03%), Profenophos 40% + Cypermethrin 4% (0.044%) and Endosulfan (0.07%) found to be effective against leafhopper, Amrasca biguttula biguttula and Aphis gossypii infesting okra. However, application of Triazophos (0.04%), Dimethoate (0.03%) and Endosulfan (0.07%) effectively suppressed the whitefly population. Maximum yield of marketable okra fruits was recorded from the plot sprayed with Indoxacarb (8126 kg/ha) followed by Profenophos + Cypermethrin (8032 kg/ha); Endosulfan (7943 kg/ha) and Chlorpyriphos (7846 kg/ha). The data on economics of different insecticidal treatments evaluated against okra pests revealed that the treatment of Imidacloprid registered maximum (1: 33.58) Incremental Cost Benefit Ratio (ICBR) followed by Profenophos + Cypermethrin (1: 24.92), Endosulfan (1: 24.13) and Chlorpyriphos (1: 21.74).
