Field studies were conducted in kharif-rabi 2010 to find out the yield losses by shoot and fruit borer, Earias vittella (Fabricius) infesting Okra. Considering the higher yield of marketable fruit (14318 kg/ha) from protected plot as compared to unprotected plot after spraying of indoxacarb 0.007 per cent and spinosad 0.009 per cent, which ultimately increased 73.46 per cent in fruit yield (6063 kg/ha) in protected plots. The avoidable loss of 42.34 per cent was recorded by giving proper protection against E. vittella on okra.
