Abstract

The study on diallel analysis was conducted in tomato to study the magnitude of heterosis in tomato for twenty characters including fruit yield and its related components. The experimental material comprising of six genetically diverse parental lines and their thirty hybrids (including reciprocals). Significant difference among genotypes were obtained for all the traits. In order of merit, the six promising hybrids viz., AVTO-2 x JTL-08-15, NTL-1 x JTL-08-15, NTL1 x AVTO-2 and AVTO-2x NTL-50 exhibited standard heterosis range of 23.79 to 68.62 over commercial check, Abhinav.
