Effect of Potassium and Zinc Deficiencies on Macronutrients Uptake by Gerbera Under Polyhouse Condition

Abstract

The present investigation was carried out under polyhouse condition at the Hi-Tech Floriculture and Vegetable Project, College of Agriculture, Pune-5 during November-2011 to December-2012. The results of the experiment revealed that Nitrogen uptake increased with days due to all nutrients treatments. N uptake increased with days upto 130 DAP but significantly decreased with days after 130 DAP due to K and Zn deficiency treatments Phosphorus uptake increased with days due to all nutrients treatments. P uptake increased with days upto 120 DAP but significantly decreased with days after 120 DAP due to K deficiency treatments. P uptake increased with days upto130 DAP but became stagnant with days after 130 DAP due Zn deficiency treatments. Potassium uptake increased with days due to all nutrients treatments. K uptake increased with days upto 120 DAP but significantly decreased with days after 120 DAP due to K and Zn deficiency treatments. Calcium uptake increased with days due to all nutrients treatments. Ca uptake increased with days slowly due to K deficiency treatments, while Ca uptake increased with day's upto 140 DAP but significantly decreased afterwards due to Zn deficiency treatments. Magnesium uptake increased with days due to all nutrients treatments. Mg uptake increased with day's upto 140 DAP but became stagnant afterwards due to K and Zn deficiency treatments. Sulphur uptake increased with days due to all nutrients treatments. S uptake increased with day's upto 130 DAP but suddenly decreased at 140 DAP and then increased due to K and Zn deficiency treatments.
