Influence of Different Planting Methods on Growth Parameters in Chilli (Capsicum annuum Var. annuum L.) at Various Growth Stages

Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Main Agricultural Research Station, Raichur, during Kharif season 2010–11. The result raveled that the highest plant height 90.67, 94.00 and 95.67 was recorded in treatment T6 (Polythene cover in shade house) followed by T2 (Raised bed in shade house) such as 98.37cm, 97.70cm, 94.37cm and 82.87cm, 88.60cm, 90.27cm respectively at 40, 80 and 120 DAS. Significantly higher leaf area of 182.45, 1609.41 and 1528.31 cm2 per plant were recorded at 40, 80 and 120 DAS in T6 (Polythene cover in shade house). The highest LAI of 0.19, 2.23 and 2.11 were recorded in T6 (Polythene cover in shade house) at 40, 80 and 120 DAS respectively
