Abstract

An investigation on effect of integrated nutrient management on yield and quality characters in ashgourd (Benincasa hispida cogn.) cv. CO-1 was undertaken at Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar during 2013–2014. The results of the study indicated that précised application of various organic inputs with inorganic fertilizer had significant influence of yield and quality traits. Application of Poultry manure @ 3 kg pit−1 plus 75 per cent Recommended dose of fertilizer plus Effective microorganisms 1: 1000 dilution plus Panchakavya @ 3 per cent significantly increased the number of fruits per vine, single fruit weight, fruit length, fruit girth, flesh thickness, seed weight, pulp seed ratio, fruit yield per vine, fruit yield per plot, total soluble solids (TSS) and ascorbic acid content in ashgourd.
