In vitro and in vivo effect of bioformulationof Bacillus megaterium was studied against disease and pest complex of okra. Bioformulation of B. megatorium causes 31.7% nematode mortality in vitro. In field experiment, okra seeds treated with biofomulation of B. megaterium @ 5ml/lit of water along with the spraying of the bioformulation singly as well as by mixing with vermicompost showed best result in terms of highest germination percentage (98.80%) and plant height (106.80 cm). Similarly, lowest disease (27.40%) and pest incidence (2.60%) were recorded in treatment 3 which leads to highest fruit yield of 299 q/ha. Record on root knot nematode infestation showed that lowest number of root galls (79.0 numbers) was found in treated plot. From this experiment we can conclude that the bioformulation of B. megaterium along with vermicompost application can protect okra crop from leaf spot disease and root knot nematode infestation.
