Abstract

Field trial were conducted during Rabi 2012 to evaluate Six microbial, Four botanical and 1 chemical insecticide for the control of Helicoverpa armigera in chickpea. The result revealed that the minimum larval population was observed in plot treated with Beauveria bassiana 0.5% AS @ 1 lit./ha followed by HaNPV 250LE/ha @ 1 lit./ha next to chlorpyriphos 25 EC @ 1.25lit./ha. The lowest per cent of pod damage was significantly lower in treated plot. The treatment with HaNPV 250LE/Ha was most effective with 12.23 per cent pod damage, followed by B. bassiana 0.5% AS (12.61%) next to chlorpyriphos 25 EC (10.84%). Highest yield (12.75 q/ha) was registered in plot treated with chlorpyriphos 25 EC. It was, however, at par with B. bassiana 0.5% AS (12.25q/ha), it was followed by HaNPV 250LE/ha (11.08 q/ha).
