Abstract

The specific objective of this study were to evaluate the effect of cold storage period on the field survival percentage of rooted cuttings in three commercial standard carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) varieties Domingo (Red), Baltico (White) and Bizet (Pink) during 2013–2015. Among the storage period T3 2°C for 45 days shows higher survival percentage in the main field followed by T2 2°C for 30 days & T1 2°C for 15 days kept under cold storage condition. The studies indicated that carnation may be stored upto 45 days at 2°C for (11/2 month) without significant changes in quality and quantity of rooted cuttings.
