Chilli, Capsicum annum L. cultivation has existed for several hundred years as a sustainable form of agriculture in India and in many other countries. Chilli anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum capsici (Sydow) Butler and Bisby is one of the major constrain in the production of chilli in tropical and sub-tropical regions. Present research on anthracnose Colletotrichum capsici of chilli under northern Karnataka conditions was carried out in the Plant Pathology Lab., Deptt. of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad to find out suitable management strategies. Due to hazardous effect of chemical fungicides, search for safer alternative to control the pathogen is better choice. Efficacy of seven organic products with two different concentrations, that is, 10 and 20% were studied in vitro against C. capsici by poisoned food technique. Among seven organic products tested against C. capsici neem oil recorded maximum inhibition of mycelial growth (35.78% inhibition) which was differed significantly over all other treatments and it was effective at 10 and 20 per cent. The next best treatment was biodigestor (13.21%). It showed the possibility of the most ecofriendly and inexpensive method of control of the anthracnose of chilli caused by C. capsici (Butler and Bisby).
