The present investigation entitled “Effect of season and growing environment on success of soft wood grafting in Chironji (Buchanania lanzan Spreng.)” was carriedout at Agriculture Experimental Station, Navsari Agricultural University, Paria-Valsad, during the year 2014–2015. Among different treatment combinations of season of grafting and growing environment of rootstocks tested, in-situ soft wood grafting in the month of August (S3E3) was found tobe most effective for obtaininglarge number of good quality planting material of Chironji. The maximum number of sprouted grafts(7.1/10), sprouting percentage (72.42%), number of leaves/graft (5.47), Graft length (23.05cm), graft girth (0.87cm), and maximum survival percentage (63.03%) was recorded with treatment combination S3E3 (grafting in the month of August under in situ conditions).
